It's that time of year again!
Chogokin Summit 2005!
We call it the Chogokin Summit, but its really open to all who appreciate Japanese toys, wether it be Gokin, Jumbos, Kaiju, or even erasers! It is a great opportunity to meet all the people you've been chatting with for years.
We'll be firing up the grill, talking toys, trading, buying and selling, and all sorts of schennannigans.
WHO
This year, the summit is being hosted by Mason Fitch (aka mcfitch).
Attendees include the creators and members of ToyboxDX, Waist-Joint, Robot-Japan, CollectionDX and the like. Meet your favorite Toy Celebrities!
WHERE
The summit is being held at Mason's house in Maynard, MA, about 30 minutes outside of Boston. If we grow too large for this space, we'll make other arrangements.
32 Thompson St.
Maynard, MA
01754
WHEN
Saturday, June 18, Noon - 9pm
WHAT
Make sure to bring all those toys you've been dying to get rid of for the trade table. You can also bring that rare toy, to show off to the crowd. Bring whatever you think is neat. Last year, someone brought a 6-foot Gundam. Some people are even bringing non-toy stuff, like DVD's CD's and things like that to trade. Bring broken toys, parts whatever you like. Bring money. Bring your camera.
Feel free to bring anything for show and tell, including any Japanese toy related videos or DVDs. The crazier, the better. We are also planning a field trip for those of you who want to stay later. We're still planning this, so if you have any ideas, let us know.
WHY
Because it is cool to get together with other toy geeks. There aren't a lot of people in the world you can talk to about this stuff.
HOW
One of the reasons we can throw this party every year is because of you and your help with food expenses. Ideally, if you can make a donation of cash, that would be great. You can donate via paypal, or bring some food with you. Anything that goes on the grill - burgers, hotdogs, rolls, chips, pasta salad etc... even soda, paper plates and plasticware. Just email me if you need suggestions. Of course, it's not mandatory. We're more interested in you bringing yourself (and your toys).
So what are you waiting for?
Please use the form to sign up so I can keep track of who's coming, even if i've already talked to you over email.
Directions and contact information will be emailed to you once you submit the form.
